House rules

So that everyone enjoys a peaceful stay at our place, here are the rules for Sand Baya and Le Cottage du chemin des chênes. These rules are appended to our terms and accepted at booking.

1. Check-in and check-out

Check-in: from 4 pm on the day of arrival.
Check-out: before 11 am on the day of departure.

A personalised check-in can be arranged on request, subject to our availability. The smart-lock code (autonomous check-in) is sent by email 48 hours before arrival. If you arrive after 9 pm, please let us know in advance.

2. Quiet hours

Out of respect for our neighbours and for other guests if both cottages are booked separately, please keep noise down between 10 pm and 7 am. No amplified music outside after 10 pm, no loud conversations in the garden or on the loggia.

When the whole estate is booked privately (Sand Baya + Le Cottage du chemin des chênes), these hours still apply with regard to neighbours.

3. Smoking

Both cottages are strictly non-smoking indoors. Any breach will result in a flat retention of €250 from the security deposit to cover restoration (laundering, odour treatment).

Smoking is permitted in the garden and on the loggia, provided you use the ashtrays placed outside. Please do not drop cigarette butts anywhere in nature.

4. Pets

Pets are not allowed in the cottages or on the estate, out of respect for the allergies of future guests and the serenity of the place. No exceptions, even for small dogs or cats. Thank you for your understanding.

5. Maximum occupancy

Each cottage hosts a maximum of 6 guests (adults and children combined). Any additional person not declared at booking, even for a single night, requires a written agreement in advance. Otherwise, we reserve the right to terminate the stay without refund.

Baby equipment on request: travel cot, baby bath, high chair. To be specified at booking.

6. Wi-Fi and electricity

Wi-Fi is provided free of charge in every cottage. The network name and password are listed in the welcome guide on site. Please do not turn off or unplug the router.

Please turn off lights and appliances when you leave the cottage each day, to keep our consumption low. The house is equipped with LED bulbs and water-saving fixtures.

7. Waste sorting

Waste sorting is mandatory and made easy with dedicated bins in each kitchen: household waste, packaging, glass. The outdoor compost bin welcomes organic waste.

8. Pool and outdoors

Outdoor spaces (garden, loggia, terraces) are shared if the estate is fully booked, otherwise private to each cottage. Children remain under the constant supervision of their parents. No swimming facilities are provided on site.

9. Inventory and security deposit

A deposit of €500 per cottage (€1,000 for whole-estate booking) is requested by secure card capture via Swikly. No debit occurs unless damage is recorded during the check-out inventory.

Please report any accidental damage as soon as it happens, so we can sort it out amicably. End-of-stay cleaning is included in the price, but the cottage should be returned tidy (dishes washed, bins emptied, used linen gathered).

10. Safety and emergencies

Useful numbers:
SAMU (medical): 15
Fire brigade: 18
Police: 17
European emergency number: 112
Vendée on-call doctor: +33 2 51 24 80 00
On-call pharmacy: 32 37 (from a French line)

A certified NF smoke alarm is fitted in each cottage. A fire extinguisher is available in the kitchen, and emergency exits are signposted in the welcome guide.

Owners' contact for on-site emergencies: +33 2 52 43 10 53 or [email protected].

11. Breaches of these rules

In case of serious breach (repeated noise after hours, indoor smoking, undeclared pets, exceeding capacity, deliberate damage), we reserve the right to terminate the stay without refund, after a written warning. Our consumer mediator (CM2C) is detailed in the legal notice and the terms and conditions.
