Le Cottage
du chemin des chênes

Main view of the Cottage living room, antique wooden mirror, beige sofa, panelled walls, coffee table, herringbone parquet

A slow-life nest at the edge of the bocage, rooted in its land like an old oak.

The concept

An homage to the
oak and the hearth.

Le Cottage du chemin des chênes takes its name from the lane that runs alongside it. The oak, symbol of nobility, strength and rootedness, sets the tone of the place as surely as its palette: sage, weathered wood, soft ochres.

The word cottage raises the register and promises a thoughtful interior with British accents: floral boutis patchwork quilts like the ones Mamie Marie kept folded at the foot of the bed, vintage Arcopal Myosotis tableware straight from Tata Michèle's sideboard, mismatched books resting on the mantel. At the centre of the living room, a remote-controlled LED feature fireplace: the visual warmth of a hearth: no flame, no smoke, and safe for small fingers.

It is a place made for long winter evenings, unhurried breakfasts under the boutis, rainy afternoons that slip past unnoticed, but also for recovering after a long day at Puy du Fou, or carving out a real pause: a personal retreat, a wellness break, quiet reading. The Cottage knows how to fold around you.

Designed for families. As parents of three young children ourselves, we know what matters when travelling with little ones: a travel cot with fitted sheet and mattress protector, baby bath, and high chair are all available on request.

The cottage sleeps up to six, but it is at its best for four: a shower room and one separate WC, suited to a family or a small group taking its time.
